1. Why this policy exists
Your website shares a server with other clients. This policy protects everyone by setting out what is not allowed. It forms part of our terms of service.
2. Not allowed
You may not use our services to:
- host, send or link to anything that is illegal in South Africa, including content that infringes copyright or other rights;
- distribute malware, run phishing pages or take part in fraud;
- send unsolicited bulk email (spam) or email to purchased address lists;
- attack, scan or try to break into other systems, including ours;
- run cryptocurrency mining, file-sharing trackers, open proxies or anything similar;
- host content that promotes violence, hate speech or the abuse of children.
3. Fair use of resources
Plans include the storage and allowances shown for them. Because the server is shared, you may not run processes that use an unreasonable amount of processing power, memory or connections, or that harm the performance of other websites. If your website needs more resources, we will talk to you about a suitable plan.
4. Security
Keep the software on your website, such as WordPress and its plugins, up to date, and use strong passwords. If your website is compromised, we may take it offline to protect other clients until it has been cleaned.
5. What we may do
If we believe this policy has been broken, we may remove the content, suspend the service or close the account. Where the risk to others allows, we will contact you first. We may report illegal activity to the authorities.
6. Reporting abuse
Report abuse involving a website we host to support@superlativehosting.co.za.
